Baby to Boy

J-Boogie and Daddy have been enjoying some fun times together. As Jalon is getting older, more things are opening up that we can do with him. Just when you start missing some of the baby stages, he reminds us how each phase is unique and special, and gets even better as the bond between all of us grows. Below are some pictures of their fun times.
Jalon is quite the talker and shocks us sometimes with his words. He told his cousin Jordyn the other day, who was offering her blueberries, "No thank you, I don't like those blueberries, I like mine at home." Me and my mom looked at each other and laughed and shook our heads is disbelief. Eddie and I find ourselves doing this frequently lately, he's learning so quickly these days and putting things together in his head...it's really amazing. Having a family is truly a blessing.Flying a kite (didn't get a very good shot)

Just Some Photos and a Video

Little Man playing in the sink. This is entertainment for a long time!

When we first looked at this house, I was unsure of the kitchen...now, I really like it!
This is what happens when you let a toddler eat cereal out of the box :)
This is a simple video but listen to what he says after drinking the water (which is not bath water :). He's saying "Mmm, that's delicious."

29 Years

I celebrated my 29th birthday yesterday. This is the age that people keep repeating, right? Well, I am content with turning 30 next year. It is just a number. And every year just keeps getting better so why shy away from another one, rather I'm thankful for it.
I was blessed on my birthday with many emails, calls, cards, and love. I am truly thankful for all the wonderful people in my life. They make my life richer and sweeter. My wonderful momma watched Jalon while Eddie took me out to an amazing restaurant, called Bon Vie. We enjoyed Brie Fondue and Chicken Crepes, mmmmm! We sat outside and it had the feeling of actually being in Europe (I've never been to Europe but I can imagine!). Eddie and Jalon did special things for me all day. It was one of my greatest birthdays.

A New Pool

Okay, not really...not at all. It rained pretty hard last week and we found out that along one side of our house, the water doesn't drain very well. But that's okay because it was like our very own in-ground pool! Jalon saw the neighbors playing in it and immediately wanted to join. So on went the swim trunks and off we went. He loved it. One part of the puddle was about 6" deep. He was pretty muddy at the end of it but it was a blast. It was nothing that a warm bath couldn't take care of. It was also was a good opportunity to get to know my neighbors better. They are great people and have great kids.Racing across the puddle with the neighbor kids

Daddy Time

I love watching Jalon and Eddie play together. They have a unique and special relationship, as they should. Eddie is an incredible father. I love how he initiates alone time with Jalon, and comes up with fun activities for them to do together. I read recently that the average father only spends 7 minutes alone with his children a week. I am thankful that Eddie can do more than that, much more.
Here is a picture of them playing catch. This was a good game; because of the velcro concept with the ball and disc, Jalon could actually catch the ball. He was excited and surprised :)

The In-Laws Visited...

And it was the best, as it always is! I have amazing in-laws that I just love. We had a great time just hanging out, playing games, shopping, Eddie golfing with his Dad, and much more. Jalon loves his Papa and Grandma and never forgets who they are, even if it's been a few months since he last saw them. They make a huge impression on his life when they are around and when they talk to him on the phone. He loves playing golf with Papa, going upstairs to their room and dancing and singing with them, going for walks with Grandma, and enjoying the extra special treats that they give him. Here are just a few photos of the great time spent with them.

Count Your Blessings

It was about a year ago that we found out the fullness of Jalon's allergies. We have had many wonderful people share their testemonies of deliverance of allergies. At the same time we have had many people share with us their "worldly" knowledge. We heard from multiple doctors that it is unlikely or impossible that Jalon would outgrow the peanut allergy. Not only that, but we needed to carry an Epi-pen because this particular allergy can cause life-threatening reactions. We had the temptation to walk around in fear of our son's safety and not believe that he could be healed. But that is not at all what we did. We knew the limitless power of our Heavenly Father. We knew of His immense love for His children. We knew of His willingness to want to give His children the best. So we believed. We continually prayed, took action on anything we knew to do, and reminded each other of God's Word. I am happy to say today that Jalon is healed of the peanut allergy! He had absolutely no reaction at any point to the peanut butter test that we did. And up until the 6 spoon of it, he liked it :)

We are so thankful to God for all that He does for our family, including this awesome healing that we can now share with the world.

In Every Thing Give Thanks

Jalon had his appointment with the allergist today. He was such a trooper. We had to hold him down on his stomach while they put drops of allergens on his back and then prick his skin. He is way too strong for his age! The whole time he was trying to get away, he was working hard and well, so were we. He was straining so hard, he now has some busted blood vessels on his face, what the heck!?!? He was fine after that quick process was done. So the test results....he still has a milk and egg allergy, BUT no soy allergy and the peanut one is now questionable. We are SO thankful to God for the progress that we have seen and the deliverance we have. There is always something to be thankful for. Jalon won't eat much soy but it doesn't open up a few new recipes. Some with soy sauce, or even some meats that have some soy protein in them. Now, I said the peanut allergy is questionable, so you may be wondering what to do with that information?? Well, we have to just try it out. The doctor said to try it in stages. First, rub a tiny amount of the inside of his lip, wait 15 minutes and see if there is a reaction. If none, put a pencil lead amount on a cracker and let him eat it, wait 30 minutes. If no reaction, keep increasing the amounts little by little. If he still has no reaction by the time we get up to 1/2 tablespoon, then he's in the clear. If you are ever wondering if your child has a food allergy, he said this was a good way to try out any food. So, we are going to try this out in a day or two. Please pray and believe with us! We would really appreciate any added prayers in this category.

Eddie's parents will be here in a couple hours. We are really looking forward to their visit. I'll be offline for a few day due to visiting and also getting our computer fixed. So, have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend. Love you all!
